A 13-year-old boy was behind the wheel when a car struck five pedestrians — killing one — in Grand Prairie on Sunday night, police say.
Police said Monday that three adults and two children in strollers were walking west on the south service road in the 3900 block of East Main Street about 9:10 p.m. when a Honda Civic, also traveling west, struck them.
Maria Ester Hernandez Gonzalez, 52, of Grand Prairie died at the scene, police said.
A 30-year-old man, 25-year-old woman, 2-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy were hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Police said the car’s driver was identified as a 13-year-old boy. He was driving without the consent of a parent, police said.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, and police they would consult with the district attorney’s office about potential charges once the investigation is complete.
