We take a look at two underdog brands doing sharp deals to drive sales.
Did you miss out on an end-of-financial-year deal in June? There is hope if you're prepared to bet on an underdog brand.
Czech brand Skoda has had a tough year in line with the rest of the market, having reported 2752 cars as sold in the first half of 2020 so far, down 20.8 per cent compared to the same period the prior year.
Japanese car maker Suzuki reported 7163 cars as sold, down a similar 21.3 per cent when compared to this time last year.
That makes them both ripe for the picking, and keen to move more metal.
Let's take a look at the incentives both brands are offering after the end of the financial year.
Suzuki
Suzuki has national drive away pricing on most models, some of which include free roadside assistance for five years.
The disclaimers currently the offers end on July 30. An extension is possible, but there's no guarantee that these offers will continue after the deadline.
Suzuki Baleno GL manual - $16,990 drive away
The Baleno has been the only car in Suzuki's range picking up the slack, as this particular model range, when singled out, is up year on year for the brand.
As a cheap, affordable city car, it certainly fits the bill. It's also only a few grand more than a Kia Picanto, but much larger in size.

Suzuki Swift GL Navigator auto - $18,990 drive away + 5 years roadside assist
There's a lot to love about the Suzuki Swift. It's a fun, no frills choice.
We managed to achieve close to 6L/100km while testing one of these. Combine that with a reputation for reliability, and the appeal quickly adds up.
This particular version on sale does not have the safety pack, but it's available on dearer models.
But as an alternative to a used car, the base model Swift, agnostic of safety pack, is still a solid choice.

Suzuki Vitara Range
Suzuki has all tastes and budgets covered with the Vitara range.
There are three variants currently on offer: Vitara manual from $25,490, Vitara Shadow Edition auto from $27,990, and Vitara Turbo auto from $31,990. All three stated prices are drive away, and all cars also include five years roadside assistance.
There is a catch however, which may be of benefit to some.
It's worth noting that while you can have a fresh, 2020 manual for the advertised drive away price, the same can't be said about the automatic Shadow Edition.
The $27,990 drive away price applies to 2019 versions only. The Shadow Edition benefits from blacked-out styling elements, be it the grille, wheels and other exterior styling elements.
Clearly it hasn't resonated with many, given the fact that 2019 models are still available as new cars.
However, this is the thinking person's opportunity to grab a bargain, given the other auto Vitara on sale is a massive $4000 more expensive.
Suzuki S-Cross range
You have a choice of two models if you're after an S-Cross.
The Turbo auto is offered from $28,990 drive away, and the Turbo Urban Edition auto from $28,240 drive away.
It makes no sense to opt for the regular car with less equipment for more, given they're both 2020 models.
The Urban Edition model adds a bunch of accessories for free, on top of a $750 discount versus the regular car. Freebies include front and rear skid plates, a tinted bonnet protector, floor mats, and a carpet cargo mat.

Skoda
Skoda is offering both the seven-seat Kodiaq and five-seat Octavia wagon at sharp drive away prices.
Both of these vehicles are standouts in their category, and offer genuine value for money alongside quality on-road manners.
These two offers are planned to extend through until the end of September, meaning they'll be in market for three months.
That means you have some time to mull it over if either of these choices are up your alley, which they should be.
Just be weary of stock availability, however.
Skoda Octavia Wagon DSG - $29,990 drive away
Many of us at CarAdvice love the Octavia. For $30,000 drive away, it's a sharp buy.

Skoda Kodiaq - $44,990 drive away
The Skoda Kodiaq is also a great car, with those excellent fundamentals of a just enough powertrain, a comfortable ride, and excellent, yet clever features.
At $44,990 drive away, if a seven-seat SUV is a must have, then this is worth a close look.
