The back is especially dramatic, with an integrated spoiler that houses the slim taillamps. It looks like a much more focused sports car than the original Prelude, which is probably why the designers envision it getting the hybrid powertrain from the Acura NSX (known as the Honda NSX elsewhere), which produces 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque.
Outside of the Civic Type R, Honda doesn't really have a dedicated performance model in its range, and this is exactly the kind of car that could change that. The legendary S2000 was another example of what happens when the sensible brand lets its hair down. While there is no sign of a Prelude making a comeback as a true sports car, these renders make us hope for a miracle.
