Trending stocks: Maruti Suzuki shares trade flat in early session - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Shares of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. traded 0.08 per cent up in Friday's trade at 11:04AM (IST). Around 15,634 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 5948.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 5986.65 and Rs 5901.8, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 7755.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 4002.0.

Total market cap of the Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. stood at Rs 179826.75 crore at the time of writing this report.

The country's largest carmaker launched its vehicle lease subscription service for individual customers under ' Maruti Suzuki Subscribe' brand.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 17187.3 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, down 12.56 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 19655.5 crore and down 17.13 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 20740.7 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 1322.2 crore, down 27.73 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, DIIs held 7.06 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 21.63 per cent and the promoters 0.0 per cent.

Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 31.68 and a price-to-book ratio of 3.64. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
