Suzuki’s subcompact hatch, the Swift, has been given a mid-cycle makeover for the 2021 model year, after it was presented in 2017.

The visual upgrades are modest, but present nonetheless, with revised front end that carries a tweaked grille and headlights, and standard LED front and rear lights, which were previously reserved for the SZ5 models.

An upgraded version of the 1.2-liter engine is also included, which develops 83 PS (82 HP / 61 kW) and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) of torque, for a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 12.2 seconds when paired to the optional CVT. The hybrid variant has been reworked too, getting a higher capacity lithium-ion battery, from 3Ah to 10 Ah, and it returns 4.9 l/100 km (47.6 mpg US / 57.2 mpg UK) in the WLTP cycle, while emitting 111 g/km of CO2. The AllGrip four-wheel drive system is still available, though as an option in the SZ5 grade.

Speaking of trim levels, the 2021 Swift is offered in the SZ-L, SZ-T, SZ-T CVT, SZ5, SZ5 CVT and SZ5 AllGrip in the United Kingdom. Pricing starts at £14,749 ($19,268) for the base model, going up to £16,249 ($21,228), £17,249 ($22,554), £17,749 ($23,187) and £18,749 ($24,494) respectively for the rest of the models, whereas the four-wheel drive range-topper comes from £18,749 ($24,494) too, according to Suzuki.

All models are equipped with air conditioning, Smartlink display with DAB radio, reversing camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Radar Brake Support with Adaptive Cruise Control, rear privacy windows and 16-inch alloy wheels. The SZ-T adds the Lane Departure Warning and Weaving Alert, Dual Sensor Brake Support, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor, Traffic Sign Recognition and rear parking sensors. The SZ5 fetures automatic climate control, keyless entry&go, telescopic steering wheel adjustment and side mirror turn signals.
