The initial trend suggests, the need for personal mobility in times of Covid has propelled the sales of entry-level cars. Healthy off-take in the rural segment along with pent-up demand and improvements in supply chain management are some of the trends that will lead to a sustained future sales upswing, a senior Maruti Suzuki official had told news agency IANS.
In July 2020, Maruti Suzuki India Limited posted total sales of 108,064 units, a growth of 88.2% over June 2020 and a fall of 1.1% over July 2019.
The company remains committed to the health, safety and well-being of all members across the value chain. All production and sales continue to take place fully consistent with all safety requirements for employees and customers, MSIL said in a release.
