It’s usually the rider who defines a bike. But these superbikes from movies stretch our imagination from being conventional to unreal and beyond. This monstrous two-wheeler stands out with its unconventional architecture. It requires it to be piloted partly in a ‘Superman position’ and steered by the shoulders instead of hands. Actually driven in the movie The Dark Knight (2008), it was conceptualised by Nathan Crowley, who also created the Batmobile. The bike has 20-inch front and rear tyres, and the engines are in the hubs of the wheels. Crowley never revealed the power of its engine. The Devil’s motorcycle-riding bounty hunter in Ghost Rider (2007) rides one that doesn’t follow the natural laws of physics. It has no suspensions, is powered by hellfire and could not be destroyed by any means. The Hell Cycle can move at incredible speeds, move up vertical surfaces, ride over water and is sometimes capable of flight. The wheels are constantly on fire, which leaves a trail along the road when moving. The Moto-Terminators of Terminator Salvation (2009) are automated motorcycles, produced by Skynet sometime before 2018, whose main purpose is to hunt down humans. They have red optic sensors and plasma emitters on their sides. The motorcycles are agile, with the sensors calculating debris or obstacles ahead, even viewing them in slow motion. With this trait, they can avoid any obstacle, even at high speed. The legendary warrior in the Priest (2011) blasts around the dystopian world in his Gladius jet-bike looking for vampires. The striking thing about it, apart from the huge turbine at the front, is its extended length and the low ride height. It uses a drag-style swingarm to lengthen the wheelbase by seven-feet.
