LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — G3 Boats, located in Lebanon, Mo., recently donated $1,000 to Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance (LOWA).

Yamaha Rightwaters matched the donation. LOWA will use the funds to facilitate cleanup events, maintain the health of the lake and encourage residents to use more conservation-minded practices in their daily lives.

Established in 2006, LOWA works to preserve, protect and improve the Lake of the Ozarks watershed, its waters and natural resources while maintaining the area’s economic, social and environmental health.

“Lake of the Ozarks is a healthy lake and we (LOWA and the lake community) take a proactive approach towards its protection. We want to keep the Lake beautiful for future generations,” said Donna Swall, Executive Director, LOWA. “With the Covid-19 pandemic, fundraising has been more difficult than in years past. This generous donation will help our volunteer organization continue to keep our lake clean and sustainable.”

With its headquarters in Lebanon, Mo., G3 Boats is in close proximity to Lake of the Ozarks and team members regularly spend time on the Lake.

“LOWA has a lot of big projects planned for 2021, so the timing was perfect for us,” said Rosie Atkison, Human Resources Manager, G3 Boats. “Many G3 employees spend their summers boating, fishing and camping the Lake of the Ozarks and surrounding waterways. These activities are much more enjoyable on a lake or river that is safe, clean and well maintained. It’s important that everyone does their part to protect our waterways and fisheries for future generations.”

"Organizations like the Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance have the ability to make a major impact when it comes to local marine conservation," said John O'Keefe, Senior Specialist, Government Relations, Yamaha U.S. Business Unit. "We applaud the proactive efforts of the Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance and appreciate the dedicated volunteers who work hard to keep the Lake in great condition for all to enjoy."

Yamaha Rightwaters is a national sustainability program that encompasses all of Yamaha Marine’s conservation and water quality efforts. Program initiatives include habitat restoration, support for scientific research, mitigation of invasive species, the reduction of marine debris and environmental stewardship education. Yamaha Rightwaters reinforces Yamaha’s long-standing history of natural resource conservation, support of sustainable recreational fishing and water resources and Angler Code of Ethics, which requires pro anglers to adhere to principles of stewardship for all marine resources.
