New Yamaha bike spotted testing in India
We are back with another set of spy shots, you guys. This time, what appears to be a brand new Yamaha bike was spotted out and about in India. However, we can't say just yet precisely which Yamaha bike it is and nor has the two-wheeler manufacturer said anything about it. Nonetheless, it is abundantly clear to see that no matter what upcoming bike in India it may be, it will be a while before it arrives in the market. How do we know? Well, based on the images, it is clear that the motorcycle is still in the development stages. With that being said, let's move on and see what we are able to observe about the bike from these images.
First things first -- it appears to bear quite a bit of resemblance to the Yamaha FZ, especially on account of the swingarm, wheels, and telescopic fork. These bits on the test mule are precisely the same as the one seen on the Yamaha FZ. Now, of course we don't know anything about the engine just yet. It is, after all, quite challenging to figure out the engine capacity by looking at pictures. But if we had to guess, the bike either has the Yamha FZ25's 249 cc, air-cooled engine or perhaps the 149 cc motor from the Yamaha FZ and FZ-S bikes.
Suffice it to say as far as this upcoming Yamaha bike is concerned, there's plenty of mystery to go around. But that's not going to keep us from engaging in some conjecture, especialy given the dearth of information about the motorcycle at this point.
Word has it that this could either be a version of the Yamaha XSR155 that is sold in other markets across Asia, such as Indonesia and Thailand. If not that, it may be the Yamaha FZ-X; the company had trademarked this name in India late last year. However, there is absolutely no hint that would suggest that this test mule is the Yamaha FZ-X motorcycle. Guess we will have to be patient and wait to learn more about this upcoming Yamaha bike in India.
