Yamaha have unveiled a special TMAX to celebrate the maxi-scoot’s 20th birthday. Originally dreamed up in the mid-90s, when Yamaha set out to create the world’s fastest scooter, the category-defining machine has gone on to sell over 300,000 units in Europe alone, making it one of Yamaha’s best selling bikes.

The special edition is based on the current model released last year, featuring a Euro5 560cc engine that puts out just over 45bhp.
That engine is what has given the idea for the special edition, with just 560 being made for the whole world. But what makes the new TMAX special isn’t just its rarity, it’s the fancy materials they’ve used.
The 20th Anniversary model is clad in forged carbon bodywork, meaning every single bike is unique with the rest of the machine finished in a ‘Tech Graphite’ colour.
The special edition comes standard with heated grips and a heated seat, which has yellow accent stitching reminiscent of the original bike’s yellow paintjob. Each bike will also feature a numbered badge indicating which of the 560 it is.
Pricing is TBC but all the bikes will go on sale on a dedicated web page on March 31 with details of how to order coming soon.
