Honda fans and car people in general will know what a Honda del Sol is. Or was since it is not in production anymore. Honda’s replacement for the CRX was based on the existing Civic platform and came with a targa top, feature that is reflected by the sports car’s very own name, which is Spanish for “of the sun.”
Alexis Poncelet’s take on a futuristic del Sol is just the opposite of a sunny day. Nevermind the dark-as-night color scheme, this so-called HR-X design study looks like it has been downloaded straight out of a Batman game or movie. We can also spot some Honda e cues in the front, but that’s it as far as cuteness goes for this concept.
We also do not know what to call it. Is it a pickup truck, a coupe, a sports car? Or more like all the above?
Supposedly, it gets an all-electric powertrain but the quirkiest detail of them all has to do with the three Nvidia RTX-inspired fridges that can keep your beer cool on a hot day. What’s up with those, Alexis? Preparing for a beerpocalypse?
