Upcoming 2021 Yamaha FZ-X specs revealed
Remember late last month internet sleuths came across a new Yamaha bike on a test run in India? At that point it was unclear precisely which bike it was -- most were torn up between the test mule being either an iteration of the Yamaha XSR155 or the Yamaha FZ-X. So, it turns out we have new information that allows us to confirm that it was indeed the latter, i.e. the FZ X. The said information, as the title of this story has already revealed, are the upcoming Yamaha bike's specs. Yep, so the bike recently received homologation approval from the Indian authorities, followin which specs of the upcoming bike in India were inadvertently revealed.
But before we get to that, let's quickly give you an overview of the 2021 Yamaha FZ X and what we know about it thus far.
As seen in older spy shots, Yamaha FZ-X will come sporting modern-retro styling, rounded off by provisions such as a curvy fuel tank, a long, single-piece seat, sleek turn indicators, alloy wheels, and an upswept exhaust. In addition to that, we expect the list of Yamaha FZ X's features to include a digital instrument cluster along with several other India-specific features.
Okay, now time to talk about the engine -- Yamaha FZ-X will be propelled by the same engine as the Yamaha FZ bike in India. The 149 cc air-cooled SOHC motor belts out a maximum power output of 12 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It is paired to a five-speed, constant mesh transmission.
