Upcoming bikes in India: Yamaha FZ-X spotted sans camouflage

All right folks, we have our first set of spy shots in for the day -- the Yamaha FZ-X has been spotted on a test run in India, which is not news, because that's happened before as well. But this time, the test mule photographed was seen without any camouflage. You know what this means, right? Yep, we get to see plenty of new details about the upcoming bike in India through these pictures, which appear to have been taken when the FZ-X was out for an ad shoot or some such. But we digress -- let us now focus on what we came here to discuss, i.e. the new Yamaha FZ-X's design.

We have known for some days now what the front of the upcoming Yamaha bike in India may look like, thanks to older spy shots. However, these new FZ-X pictures reveal pretty much the remainder of the bike; we spotted a circular headlamp, blacked-out LED system, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, halogen-powered indicators, and raised handlebars. Overall, a very neo retro design that is further complemented by elements such as the fork gaiters and the sharp lines.

As for the Yamaha FZ-X's specs -- we already know this bit too, thanks to the homologation approval document for the upcoming bike. This baby will come powered by the same engine as the Yamaha FZ bike, i.e. a 149 cc air-cooled SOHC motor that belts out a maximum power output of 12 bhp at 7,250 rpm and a peak torque of 13 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It is paired to a five-speed, constant mesh transmission.
