Japanese automaker, Yamaha is working on multiple new motorcycles and scooters for the South Asian markets. The company plans to expand its 155cc range, which recently got multiple new bikes and scooters. Yamaha recently upgraded the NVX 155cc maxi scooter for the Malaysian market. This time, the company has updated the XSR155 for the Indonesian market.
Yamaha currently sells multiple motorcycles in the 155cc range, including the R15, the MT15 naked streetfighter, a neo-retro-styled XSR155 and the dual-purpose WR155. It was speculated that Yamaha will introduce the XSR155 in the Indian market; that didn’t happen. Instead, the company developed a neo-retro styled motorcycle on the FZ15.
In Indonesia, Yamaha has now introduced the 2021 Yamaha XSR155 in a new exciting Matte Green Authentic colour option. The new paint scheme offers a matte green finish tank with silver decals and brown differently patterned seat. The silver finish can be seen on the side panels as well. Apart from the new Matte Green shade, the new XSR155 is available in the existing colour options – Premium Matte Silver and Matte Black Elegance.
The 2021 Yamaha XSR155 with Matte Green colour is available at the price tag of IDR 36,580,000 on road in Jakarta, which is equivalent to the INR 1.90 lakh.
The Yamaha XSR155 is equipped with the same engine that powers the Yamaha YZF R15 and the MT-15. The 155cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder, four-valve SOHC gasoline engine produces 19.3bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch as standard.
This engine comes fitted with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology that ensures optimum power output within variable speeds. The suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of telescopic forks at the front and adjustable monoshock at the rear. Based on the Delta box frame, the new cafe racer is 805mm in width, 2000mm in length and 1,080mm in height. It rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyres respectively
