Jackson Blackmon to return to Twins Cup on a Yamaha
Jackson Blackmon, a 19-year-old out of Rock Hill, SC will make his return to the MotoAmerica Twins Cup Championship at VIR aboard a 2021 Yamaha MT-07 under Jackson Blackmon Racing. Unfortunately, Blackmon had a crash while testing prior to round 1 causing him to injure his arm and miss Road Atlanta. However, Jackson is excited to get back on track in Virginia. “I was super bummed to miss the first round this season. Although I’m very motivated to get back on track at VIR and show what the new Yamaha can do. I’ve got to give a big thank you to Finishline Machine for making things happen to race this year. Back in December it wasn’t looking very good to race this year. So, I’m beyond thankful to just be on track this season,” says Blackmon.
Jackson Blackmon Racing will be competing in their first full MotoAmerica Twins Cup Championship this year. JBR will be backed by Yamaha Motors USA as well as Finishline Machine this 2021 season. Although this isn’t the biggest team in the paddock, team owner Chuck Blackmon has tons of experience when it comes to racing and machining. The pair of Blackmon’s make up the majority of the team, but this season wouldn’t be possible without the support from all of these companies: Yamaha Motors USA, Finishline Machine, Race Winning Brands, Roaring Toyz, Copolous Built, Vortex, SBS Brakes, YamaLube, GP Tech, Millenium Technologies, HJC, OneX USA, North East Cycle Outlet, TrackDay Winners, and 64 Degrees Racing. Stay tuned for more exciting news, may see another brand new bike make an appearance in Twins Cup this year.
“I would also like to give a special shoutout to Tom, Jim, Steve, and everyone else at Yamaha for bending over backwards to help us put together the best package possible this year. The year’s plans were decided very last minute and if it wasn’t for the guys at Yamaha I wouldn’t be lining up at Virginia,”
