Yamaha XSR125: Everything you need to know - India Today

pret.indah.link

Yamaha has just added the new XSR125 to its global portfolio. The new baby-XSR is a retro themed motorcycle aimed at making the daily commute, fun. With cycle-parts from the MT-125 and R125,right off the bat the XSR has the pedigree to match. Being a premium offering it also gets a relatively comprehensive set of onboard features and electronics.

The styling is distinctly retro but in a sort of modern minimalist way. The colors are bright pastel with lively retro liveries along the tank. Blend that with the very shapely modern chassis, and you have a motorcycle that instantly grabs your attention. Not something that you get to say every day about a 125cc. Retro as they may be the XSR is a premium 125 and that means you get all-LED lighting on the headlamps, tail-lamps and indicators. It also gets a fully-digital instruments pod and will be sold in three pastel paint themes Redline, Impact Yellow and Tech Black.

Powering the XSR125 is the properly potent 124cc liquid cooled SOHC motor from the R125 that makes 14.7bhp at 10,000rpm and 11.5Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. The sky-high redline comes thanks to Yamaha’s VVT technology that we saw first on the R15 V3. The motorcycle has been launched with a Euro 5/BS6 compliant motor.

Suspension duties on the XSR 125 are carried out between a pair of 37mm USD forks up-front and a RSU at the back. The front brake is a 267mm disc while the rear gets a 220mm disc.

Despite the obviously, 125 Duke rivalling specs. The premium 125cc segment is not presently in Yamaha that has plans making more headway into the 150cc by expanding its FZ based family of motorcycles.
