NTT INDYCAR SERIES races at Mid-Ohio for the 38th time during a Fourth of July Celebration Weekend
WHAT: As Ohio’s largest annual motorsports event, The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the HPD Ridgeline features a packed weekend of on track action as well as a celebration of our country on Fourth of July weekend. Headlined by the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, this will be the 38th Indy car race held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The weekend schedule features all three open-wheel development ladder series from the Road to Indy presented by Cooper Tires. It will be doubleheader races for Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires and Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires with a tripleheader slated for Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. The SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks make their second visit to Mid-Ohio of the season for some high-flying action across the pavement and through the air. Ten races in total will take the green flag across the three days. On Saturday, July 3rd, Movie Night presented by Hagerty will happen after on track activities followed by a fireworks display after sunset.

CAMPING WITH HONDA: This annual event for campers occupying nearly 1,000 tent and motorhome spaces on site iS back in 2021. Campers are encouraged to decorate their spots in patriotic red, white and blue colors to celebrate America. Honda drivers will visit campsites during the weekend to check out the best done themes.
FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION: On Saturday, July 3rd, after on-track activities, Movie Night presented by Hagerty will feature the showing of the classic 1986 comedy film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on the big screen located in the “esses” of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET. A spectacular Zambelli Fireworks display follows after sunset.
RACING SERIES: The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is the premier open-wheel racing series in the United States. It offers one of the most diverse and challenging schedules in motorsports with races held on super speedways, ovals, permanent road courses and temporary street circuits. A new aerodynamic body kit was introduced to the series in 2018 providing a sleeker, more aggressive-looking Indy car. An aeroscreen was added last season offering additional protection to the driver’s cockpit.
Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires is the top rung on the Road to Indy ladder system for aspiring INDYCAR drivers. It has produced some of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ biggest names during its 34-year history. Recent Indy Lights champions and front-runners have gone on to pursue their dream of racing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the famed Indianapolis 500. Among them are Jack Harvey, Colton Herta, James Hinchcliffe, Ed Jones, Dalton Kellett, Josef Newgarden, Patricio O’Ward, Felix Rosenqvist and Rinus VeeKay.
The Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires is the second step on the Road to Indy, bridging the gap between the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship and Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires. The series' champion is awarded a scholarship package valued at $718,065 to advance to Indy Lights competition the following year. Graduates include Marco Andretti, Oliver Askew, Conor Daly, James Hinchcliffe, Kyle Kirkwood, Patricio O’Ward, Graham Rahal and Rinus VeeKay.
The Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship is the first step on the Road to Indy. In addition to providing a vital training ground for rising stars just out of the karting ranks, the series champion will earn a scholarship package valued at $401,305 to advance to the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires in 2022. Drivers who have honed their skills in the series include Oliver Askew, Austin Cindric, RC Enerson, Braden Eves, Colton Herta, Kyle Kirkwood, Spencer Pigot and Rinus VeeKay.
SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks return for a second visit in 2021 to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course! Created by former INDYCAR and NASCAR driver Robby Gordon, this series is always a fan favorite and adds to the thrills of the on track action. These identically-prepared, high-horsepower trucks will fly across jumps, power down the straightaways, and slide through the turns.
TICKETS: Weekend tickets offer the best value when attending an event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Children 12 and under are admitted free. For The Honda Indy 200 Presented by the HPD Ridgeline, Weekend Grandstand is $85 (includes general admission), and Weekend General Admission is $75.
