Earlier this month, Yamaha India Motorcycle expanded its range of 150 cc bikes with the addition of the Yamaha FZ-X. The new Yamaha bike in India gets a price tag of ₹1.17 lakh for the entry-level variant, whereas the top-end model with Bluetooth is priced at ₹1.2 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Given its unique retro-styled appearance doesn't only make the bike stand out from the crowd, but has also generated quite a bit of interest in the market as well. So, if you too are considering bringing this baby home, here are the most important things you need to know about the latest addition to Yamaha India's portfolio.

New Yamaha FZX

  1. Yamaha FZ-X gets a retro design tenet, featuring elements like a round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, tuck and roll seat, bellows for the front forks. Tends to remind the onlooker of the Yamaha XSR range, to be honest.
  2. This styling of this new Yamaha bike in India is complemented by provisions such as a bi-functional LED headlight, LED DRLs, LED tail light, black alloy wheels, an upswept exhaust, and silver headlamp brackets that serve to enhance the overall stance and look of the bike. The new Yamaha FZ-X is offered with three colour options: Matt Copper, Matt Black, and Metallic Blue.
  3. Yamaha has equipped the FZ-X with a negative LCD instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity with a smartphone app that offers features suc as rev meter, malfunction notification, battery level, oil-check timing, locate your bike, parking record, riding history, etc.
  4. Yamaha FZ-X comes powered by by an air-cooled, single-cylinder 149 cc engine that delivers 12 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13.6 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. This motor is paired to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. 
  5. The suspension set up on the new FZ-X includes telescopic forks with mono-shock. Whereas for braking, it gets comprises disc brakes on either end with single-channel ABS.
