"I am so humbled, honored and excited to receive this prestigious award," said Cockrell.  "This last week has felt like one dream come true after another.  To be included in this year's class and amongst past winners is awe-inspiring.  I owe so much gratitude to my family, coaches, and the entire track and field staff at USC for always supporting me and making these dreams possible."

Cockrell, from Charlotte, N.C., became just the second woman athlete to win both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles in the same season at the NCAA Championships meet to help lead USC to its second team title in the last three seasons.
